Six innocent people died in Tucson, Arizona yesterday by a psychotic 22 year old gunman. This is the worst tragedy since the Virginia Tech massacre. The above article is talking the shooting out of context and making the issue more political than what is necessary. To examine the crime you have to examine the criminal. Jared Loughner is the main suspect in the shooting. The FBI is currently profiling this deranged young man and trying to figure out why he did this. From looking at his myspace page and posted youtube videos, it's clear that this person had anger to let loose and he does not have the mental stability or capacity to attribute his crimes to any cause.
It's said that his three favorite books are Mein Kampf, The Communist Manifesto, and One Flew Over the Coo Coo's nest. I think this sums up the attacker. For someone who has such an anti-government sentiment why would your favorite books be about fascism and communism (two conflicting political ideologies). This person is a maniac, if we lived by his ideals we would be sharing wealth and experiencing constant political corruption. Also, anyone who is familiar with Mein Kampf knows that nobody reads that book, its just Adolf Hitler rambling on in a speed induced state of mind. Maybe when he is waiting for his justice on death row, he will realize that he is a moron and should embrace a government that allows the freedoms that this country offers. I doubt it though, because once you become a fanatical ideologist you become paranoid with conspiracy theories and all levels of reality are comprised.
At the end of the day, his crimes are nothing but an insane person harming innocent people. He didn't even have the mental competency to speak about his cause or have any real solution to what he is fighting for. Instead he shot and killed six people, injured twenty, and attempted to assassinate an innocent congresswoman. It's times like this where I think the wheels of justice should be stopped and a more appropriate punishment should be served to him and his alleged accomplices.
